Breeze raffia belt – free crochet pattern

Crochet a simple summer belt with this free crochet pattern. You could say it’s a breeze to make…

Size options include both waist and hips sizes, making it the perfect finishing touch to your summer outfit whether that’s a floaty dress or denim shorts and a t-shirt.

It’s so quick you could have it finished in an evening, or even better while sitting in the afternoon sun! All you need is an old belt buckle along with some raffia yarn. It’s a great simple project to get to grips with raffia (or a good way to use up leftovers from another raffia project). The breeze belt has a slight stretch, making it super comfortable to wear all day and you don’t have to worry about only having a finite amount of holes to adjust it too, as the buckle can go through any part of the belt! It goes great with my Sunburst circle bag crochet pattern too.

Read on for the free crochet pattern or you can purchase a printable PDF with extra photos and detail from LoveCrafts or Etsy .

This pattern uses UK terms but the equivalent US term is included in the abbreviation section.

When wearing the belt you can either tuck the end back under the belt like in the image above, or make a belt loop like in the photos at the top of the post. To make a belt loop, fdc 14 stitches (or a couple shorter than your belt width doubled) and join into a loop with 2 sl st at the end. Fasten off and weave in ends. If you need help with the fdc stitch there’s a tutorial here.

The Breeze belt also looks great with the Sunburst circle bag, a fun beginner level bag pattern with a flap fastening and raised sunburst design!
